The Bridges to the Baccalaureate Program is funded by the National Institutes of Health. Its goal is to advance the
careers of underrepresented minority students who are interested in careers in biomedical research. In this program,
community college students are paired with mentors in a four year college or institution. The students are encouraged
to complete an Associates degree program in a STEM field at the community college, then transfer to a baccalaureate
degree program in the sciences at a four-year educational institution. Roxbury Community College partners with the
University of Massachusetts Boston in this endeavor.
