STEM LEAPs Grant Projects at RCC
RCC participates in three of the STEM initiatives that are led by the Leadership These initiatives are:
UMLSAMPThe Urban Massachusetts Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (UMLSAMP) program is partly funded by the National Science Foundation. Main objectives of the program are to increase post-secondary degree attainment in the STEM fields among underrepresented minority groups and to enhance the competitiveness of members of these groups in the areas of employment and participation in the increasingly science- and technology-based economy. The program seeks to achieve these objectives through on- and off-campus activities, support from local industry, and collaborative events among participating local community colleges and universities.
LSAMP Internships
Research internship opportunity LSAMP ScholarsIn the Spring and Fall semesters, selected students work along with RCC faculty members on STEM-related assignments. These students receive $800 stipends for the semester. Eligibility Requirements for LSAMP Interns and Scholars
