Mission statement

Mentoring for Success at Roxbury Community College strives to empower students to achieve both academic and personal success.  The program supports first-generation college students at RCC in their academic pursuits by creating one-to-one mentoring relationships that last for two semesters. The program assists students with the confidence, resources, and support they need to achieve their potential.

The program helps students focus on:
- Time-management
- Goal-setting
- Developing plans to achieve academic and personal goals
- Knowledge of higher education resources
- Getting involved on campus to make the most of the RCC experience
- And much more

*Please note – Due to our current grant funding, preference will be given to mentee applicants who are between the ages of 18-24. However, we accept all applications and try our best to match students who are interested and complete the application process. For our program’s purposes, the term “first-generation” refers to students whose parents have not attained a higher education degree.
