The Health Sciences Division at Roxbury Community College was established 1987. Our first graduating class in 1989 consisted of three nursing students. In 2010, the Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) Program was re-accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission. The Practical Nursing (PN) Certificate Program accepted its first class in September 2000, and the Evening Option for the ADN Program began in 2003. The first class for a degree offering in Radiologic Technology was admitted in September 2005. In 2010 the Radiologic Technology program was re-accredited by JRCERT. Since 1989 over eight hundred women and men have completed degree and certificate programs and have begun rewarding careers in health care and continued their pursuit of higher education.
The College is committed to diversifying Boston’s nursing work force by providing well-rounded clinical academic programs. Roxbury Community College has clinical affiliation with some of the top health care facilities in the United States. The Health Sciences Division encourages graduates to return to college and continue their formal education.
We are exceedingly proud of the achievements of our graduates. Our graduates score higher than the national average on the licensing exam for registered nurses, practical nurses and radiologic technologists. The program offers an exciting experience filled with enormous challenges and opportunities. You will discover an enthusiastic and committed faculty and staff.
