Vladimir Albin Jr., Roxbury Community College Graduate, Class of 2013, Engineering major.
Vladimir Albin Jr. is a RCC Engineering graduate. Under the guidance of Irina Galatskaya, Director of Career Development and Internships, he had interviews at Environmental Health & Engineering, Mass Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and Respiratory Motion, Inc. prior to his graduation. After graduating in May 2013, Vladimir accepted an internship opportunity at Respiratory Motion, a biomedical engineering company, and interned there during the summer of 2013. Halfway through the summer, Vladimir realized that he would not be able to afford college in the fall. Respiratory Motion allowed him to remain with the company after his internship ended.
During this time, Vladimir stayed in contact with Jerry Ludwig, Director of Engineering at Environmental Health & Engineering who had mentioned that there could be a full- time position available in the fall. As soon as the position was open, Mr. Ludwig told him about it and Vladimir sent in his resume. At a second interview he was offered the position. Respiratory Motion, Inc. made a counter offer, but Environmental Health & Engineering was where Vladimir wanted to be. He accepted the position and started on October 7th. "It is a great Job, I am learning more than I ever thought I would and the benefits are excellent," Vladimir said. He added, "With their tuition reimbursement program, I will be able to go back to school next fall." He concluded, " I could not have gotten here without the guidance and assistance of Irina Galatskaya, Director of Career Development and Internship Services Department, and I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. My message to RCC students is 'If I can do it, you can do it.' "
