For Credit Based Internships and Co-ops

You must complete the following the semester before the internship

Eligibility

  • Possess a 2.00 or above GPA.
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Completion of English Composition 101.
  • Completion 3 courses in your major (or the courses mandated by your program).

Deadline to apply for RCC Internship Program (for credit only):

  • Summer 2017: Friday, May 12th, 2017
  • Fall 2017: Friday, August 18th, 2017
  • Spring 2018: Friday, December 15th 2017

Steps

  1. Complete RCC Career Development and Internship (CDI) Application.
  2. Sign up for an Informational Workshop before deadline.
  3. Meet with your Faculty Advisor you have the perquisites needed for the course.
  4. Meet with Coordinator of Cooperative Education to discuss internship placement.
  5. Attend 1 more required Workshop of your choice (Resume Writing, Mock Interviews, Linkedin).
  6. Look for internships! Research firms/companies/organizations (The Coordinator, Department and YOU will look for internships).
  7. Secure internship and you and the employer will fill out the Student Credited Internship Agreement.
  8. Obtain a Faculty Internship Advisor Form before the enrollment class. You need permission before you enroll.
  9. Sign the Career Services Code of Conduct
  10. Register for internship course the semester before course begins (requires sign-off register- see Faculty Internship Advisor Form).

During Internship

  1. Fulfill learning objectives by attending Faculty class or meetings and completing any assignments.
  2. Document time with Employer.
  3. Complete final Student Internship Evaluation.
  4. Congrats! You completed!

Non-Credit Based Internships, Part-time Employment

  1. Complete an Internship Application.
  2. Sign up for an Informational Workshop before deadline.
  3. Meet with Coordinator of Cooperative Education or Career Navigator (non credit-students) to discuss internship placement.
  4. Attend 1 more required Workshop of your choice (Resume Writing, Mock Interviews, Linkedin).
  5. Look for internships! Research firms/companies/organizations (The Coordinator, Department and YOU will look for internships).
  6. Sign the Career Services Code of Conduct
  7. Start Internship.

During Internship

  1. Complete final Student Internship Evaluation which will be emailed at the end of the semester.
  2. Congrats! You completed.

  1. Fill out an Internship Application.
  2. Meet with Coordinator of Cooperative Education or Career Navigator (non-credit students) to discuss opportunities.
