For Credit Based Internships

You must complete the following the semester before the internship

Eligibility

  • Possess a 2.00 or above GPA.
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Completion of English Composition 101.
  • Completion 3 courses in your major (or the courses mandated by your program).

Steps

  1. Fill out a CDI 2019-2020 ApplicationDeadline is at least 1 month before course begins.
  2. Sign up for an Informational Workshop(Semester before internship)
  3. Meet with your Faculty Advisor (see chart) you have the pre-requisites needed for the course and complete a Faculty Internship Advisor Form 
  4. Meet with Coordinator of Cooperative Education to discuss internship options
  5. Register for internship course the semester before course begins (requires sign-off register- see Faculty Internship Advisor Form)
  6. Attend 1 more required Workshop of your choice
  7. Look for internships! Research firms/companies/organizations (The Coordinator, Department and YOU will look for internships)
  8. Secure internship to then fill out Credit Based RCC Internship Agreement with internship faculty, and internship site supervisor.
  9. Sign the Risk and Consent Form.
  10. Begin your internship!

During Internship

  1. Fulfill learning objectives by attending Faculty class or meetings and completing any assignments
  2. Document your experience in Weekly Timesheet and Journals. 
  3. Present at an Internships Showcase
  4. Complete final Evaluation Forms 
  5. Congrats! You completed!

Non-Credit Based Internships, Part-time Employment

  1. Fill Out CDI 2019-2020 Application is before you plan to enroll in course.
  2. Sign up for an Informational Workshop(Semester before internship)

  4. Attend 1 more required Workshop of your choice
  5. Look for internships! Research firms/companies/organizations (The Coordinator, Department and YOU will look for internships)
  6. Secure internship to then fill out RCC Internship Agreement Non Credit with internship faculty/coordinator and internship site supervisor.
  7. Sign the Risk and Consent Form.
  8. Begin your internship!

During Internship

  1. Coordinator will determine if timesheets or site visits will occur.
  2. Present at an Internships Showcase
  3. Complete final Evaluation Forms
