Scope and Content Note:

The collection comprises documents relating to Mel King’s mayoral campaign of 1983, and to a lesser extent, his US Congress Campaign of 1986. Included from the mayoral run are campaign schedules, correspondence, newspaper clippings, event programs, campaign buttons, posters and a T-shirt. The US Congress campaign is documented by newspaper clippings and correspondence. Also included is a flyer from his first campaign for State Rep in 1972. Along with the papers and posters, this collection also contained 6 binders of newspaper clippings in chronological order. These are found at the end of the box list. The numbering of the binders was provided by the archivist.
