The African American quilting tradition dates back to colonial times. Contemporary quilters continue this tradition with vibrant images of all kinds. On display in the library from January 22 to February 28 are 21 beautiful quilts by six Boston area women. Come and see them!!
African American History Timeline Display
 

The library has a African American History timeline display to help celebrate African American History Month. The timeline includes important events and people from 1619 thru the present. The timeline can be seen in the library's windows to the right of the main entrance.

African American Book Display (New Books!)

A large selection of new books on African American history and experience are on display throughout the library this month. These are the first selections of books purchased through a generous $30,000 grant from the Roxbury Trust Fund Committee Trust to the RCC Foundation for the benefit of the library.
