    Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program at RCC

     

                                       

    Roxbury Community College will have Dual Enrollment Summer Sessions! Summer Session I starts on May 31, 2011 and ends July 1, 2011.  Summer Session II starts on July 5, 2011 and ends August 5, 2011.  Science courses run for ten weeks beginning May 31, 2011 through August 4, 2011.



    HOW to APPLY

     

    1. Complete a Dual Enrollment (DE) application.  Please go to www.rcc.mass.edu look under quick links on the home page and click on the Admissions tab to download the DE application. There is a blank on the application form requesting the student’s SAS Identification number.  Please be sure this box is complete to avoid delays in the processing of the student’s application.

    2. Attach High School Transcripts.  Students should have a 3.0 GPA or higher (A or B) Students with a GPA lower than 3.0 will have to meet with Dean Walter Clark as part of the application process.

    3. Submit a letter from a guidance counselor or college advisor stating that one of the course(s) listed below will be applied towards the student’s high school graduation requirements.  To see what courses are being offered during the summer, go to www.rcc.mass.edu and view the summer 2011 course schedule. Below is a list of courses a student may take, if the course is offered during Summer I or Summer II sessions.

    Intro Sociology I

    General Psychology

    Africana Studies

    Anatomy and Physiology I

    Anatomy and Physiology II

    General Chemistry

    Principles of Physics

    1. Take the RCC placement exam.  Students must place into a college-level course and meet the course pre-requisites.  Placement tests are held in Building 3, Room 351 (Academic Building).  Placement test dates will become available at the end of April.  Please check with Dean Clark or Callie Daniels, DE Coordinator for placement test dates.

    2. Students may mail completed applications or deliver them to Callie Daniels or Dean Walter Clark, in the RCC Admissions Office, 1234 Columbus Avenue, Roxbury, MA 02120.  The Admissions Office is located in Building 2, Room 102 (Administration Building).



    The Dual Enrollment program has limited space and enrollment is determined on a first-come-first-serve basis for students who have completed the above steps.  If you have any questions please contact Callie Daniels, Dual Enrollment Coordinator (617)933-7418 or Dean Walter Clark (617-933-7412).
