How do I transfer?

 

Consider the following things prior to transfer:

  • Career choice
  • Major
  • Affordability (Cost)
  • Location
  • Does RCC have a transfer agreement with the specific school

 

If you can answer these questions you will be able decide what schools to apply to for transfer.

 

 

Can I transfer before graduating?

 

Yes, you can transfer in as little as 9 credits to a four year college or university, however, most transfer agreements at RCC requires that a student earns the Associates Degree.   Please note: Some students entering community college may not have earned all college-level credits to consider for transfer.  Also, scholarship money is often awarded to graduates as well.

 

 

How do I find out about a college or university?

 

You can do research about a particular school by visiting their website.  Please pay special attention to information on their website specific to transfer students. Websites are extremely helpful; they can provide the following information:

 

  1. Applications
  2. Application deadlines
  3. Listing of majors at the college
  4. Information specific to transfer students
  5. Cost of attendance
  6. Financial aid procedures
  7. Phone numbers for contacts
  8. Open house dates
  9. Location information.

 

 

Will all of my credits transfer?

 

The school that you are transferring to determines transferability of credits.  However, certain transfer agreements do award full transfer of credits.
