45th Commencement Ceremony FAQs

We are pleased to invite the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 to participate in an in-person commencement ceremony on Friday, May 14, 2021! Please review the details on this page so that you can fully participate.

Time, Place & Safety Regulations
Graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 14, 2021, at 1:00 pm, in Parking Lot #1. All graduates will be seated in appropriately distanced chairs in front of the stage. The following safety guidelines will be enforced:

  • All participants may bring no more than six family members and friends who would like to watch the ceremony.
  • All graduates must pre-register their guests via our online RSVP form (see below for details). Per MA’s commencement guidelines, you must provide a valid phone number for every guest for contact tracing purposes.
  • All participants and guests must wear masks.
  • Guests must remain socially distant throughout the ceremony. RCC’s photographer will take pictures of graduates accepting their diplomas. Photos will be provided to graduates at no cost.

Caps & Gowns
RCC students can pick up their caps & gowns beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021, from the Student Commons (Building 3, 1st floor). The Office of Student Life has emailed you instructions for scheduling a date and time to pick up your regalia. If you did not receive an email from Student Life, please contact Kaela Clifton at 857-701-1480 or

Caps and Gowns are provided to students free of charge.

You must pick up your cap and gown by Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 6:00 pm.

Important note: you can fill out the guest RSVP form when you pick up your regalia. While the form is available online, we encourage you to fill out the form on-campus, when in-person IT assistance is available.

We will be streaming the 45th Commencement Ceremony live, in its entirety. The stream will go live at 12:45 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021. If you are graduating and have loved ones that are unable to attend the ceremony, they can witness you receiving your Certificate or Degree on stage. This link will remain active for one year. You can watch the stream on our YouTube channel or Facebook page.

There will not be an in-person rehearsal this year. The Office of Student Life will provide graduates with comprehensive instructions via email and virtual meetings.

Honor Cords and Stoles
Students graduating with a cumulative average of 3.00 - 4.00 will receive an Honors Cord. Cords and stoles will be distributed with regalia.
