About Roxbury Community College

Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community.  In 2021, the Department of Education recognized RCC as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI), making it the only community college in the Northeast with this designation.

“None of my friends at four-year schools have met with the Mayor of Boston, or sat down with the Governor, or attended a board meeting. I get all of these opportunities, a challenging classroom environment, and lots of extracurricular activities for the price of $4,000 a semester. I also feel like my college is my home away from home—I know that everyone in the building is here to support me.”

“My quest for knowledge and skill coupled with a strong desire to positively impact the world led me to RCC: a college where hopes and dreams become reality. The faculty, staff, and my fellow students made RCC the best place for me. I see RCC not just as a college, but a citadel where leaders are made.”

“RCC is a very effective ladder and not a place you have to step on others to get ahead. People will support you, but you have to do the work. RCC has been a huge factor in grounding me.”
