Affordable Education. No Strings Attached.

Fall21 Affordable Education Banner

At RCC, we take pride in having some of the lowest tuition and fees in Massachusetts. But we know that keeping tuition and fees low isn’t enough—there are other expenses, like transportation and childcare, that can quickly add up.

Don’t worry. We’re committed to making sure that every student can afford an RCC education.

You’ll learn about the many financial assistance programs at RCC on this page. Still have questions? Contact the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@rcc.mass.edu or 857-701-1220 to set up a 1:1 consultation with a financial aid counselor.

Scholarships

We are offering a variety of scholarships including merit-based scholarships (for exceptional academic achievers), need-based scholarships, and scholarships for new RCC students. In particular, all students enrolling at RCC for the first time are eligible for the “New to RCC scholarship,” which can cover up to $2,000 in tuition and fees for new, full-time students. We also have scholarships for:

  • Students interested in STEM, who indicate an interest in green energy programs.
  • Students committed to earning a degree in IT.

All students enrolled in fall 2021 classes are encouraged to apply for scholarships!  Please fill out the Fall 2021 Scholarship Application Form to be eligible for a scholarship award.  Note: You must be an admitted RCC student with a roxbury.edu email address to complete the application.

Ready to get started? Visit the Steps to Apply page, complete your application, and follow the steps to enroll. The College will notify you if you are awarded a scholarship.

Special Financial Assistance Programs

The City of Boston and the State of MA provide residents with special financial assistance programs to help cover the costs of your RCC education.

Boston residents who earned a BPS diploma, HiSET, or GED within the last 18 months may be eligible for:

New students at Roxbury Community College may be eligible to participate in the Commonwealth Commitment, a program offered through the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. The program makes a college education more affordable for MA residents.

Federal Financial Aid

Many RCC students are eligible for the maximum PELL grant award offered by the Federal Government. To receive the award, you must complete a FAFSA. Detailed information on completing the FAFSA is available on our Financial Aid website.

Open Educational Resources (OER)

Many courses at RCC use OER resources, meaning that instead of requiring textbooks, faculty use free, online materials. MA community colleges are committed to maximizing OER resources for faculty and students, as part of a greater commitment to ensuring access to affordable education. In addition to OER courses, RCC offers “low textbook cost” courses—the textbooks for these courses do not exceed $50.00 per course.

These are just a few of the ways RCC keeps a college education affordable to all. APPLY NOW, and we’ll help you maximize your financial resources.
