This program is designed for students interested in transferring to a four-year college
to pursue a major in accounting, banking, computer information systems, insurance,
management, retailing, or other related business fields. A combination of specialized
business courses and a broad-based liberal arts curriculum provides a strong foundation
in oral and written communication, mathematics, and accounting. Career opportunities
in this field are available in both the public and private sectors, and may include
employment in government agencies, schools, industries, and accounting, insurance,
or advertising firms.
A bachelor’s degree is essential for entry-level positions in teaching and certain
administrative, research, industrial, and advertising positions. NOTE: Students who
intend to transfer to a four- year college or university should consider the requirements
of that institution before selecting their courses. For more information about this
program, contact the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Division (STEM), 3-401.
