UPDATE – February 26, 2021 - CIC Health has been selected by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to operate and
expand the COVID-19 vaccination site at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center
at Roxbury Community College. The Center will become the company’s third mass vaccination
site. For several weeks, CIC Health has been working toward this transition in partnership
with Roxbury Community College, the Black Boston COVID-19 Coalition, local community
leaders, the Boston Public Health Commission, Mass General Brigham, and the Commonwealth.
In addition to streamlining logistics and scaling capacity for coronavirus vaccination,
CIC Health is focused on ensuring access for surrounding neighborhoods in ways that
build vaccine equity and trust.

Roxbury Community College (RCC) has partnered with the City of Boston, allowing the
Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center to be a major COVID-19 vaccination site. The
goal is to facilitate the distribution and administration of the COVID-19 vaccines
that will be instrumental in ending the pandemic. “In these unprecedented times, we
must work together and find new ways to support each other and our community,” says
Roxbury Community College president Dr. Valerie Roberson. “It’s crucial to have a
mass vaccination center that is accessible via public transportation in a location
that is familiar and comfortable. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide
such tangible support to the City and State efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19."
The Reggie Lewis Center will open as a vaccination site during the first week of February
to anyone who is eligible under the State’s vaccine distribution timeline. “Getting tested regularly and taking the vaccine when you have the opportunity to
are key to helping us defeat this virus,” says Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh. “We have
over 30 testing sites open across the city that are quick and easy to utilize. We
know people have lots of questions about the vaccine, and we’re committed to making
this information as clear and accessible as possible. I want to thank Roxbury Community
College for working with us and the Commonwealth to open a mass vaccination site at
the Reggie Lewis Center. We’ll continue to work collaboratively to direct resources
to where they’re needed most.”
The Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center was opened to the public in 1995 and named to honor the memory of Celtics and Northeastern basketball star Reggie Lewis, who died in 1993. The facility nicknamed “The Reggie” can hold up to 5,000 people. Before the pandemic, it annually hosted more than 90 high school, collegiate, and national track meets including the USA Track and Field Championships, Boston Indoor Games, Northeast 10 Championships, NCAAA Division II Championships, and the High School National Championships.
RCC is also contributing to the need for front-line health workers by offering a suite of health science programs for students including pharmacy technology, radiologic technology, phlebotomy, clinical medical assistant, and medical billing and coding. RCC’s nursing program will resume in the fall of 2021. All programs are designed to meet immediate workforce needs, and the College regularly meets with industry leaders to update program curricula and ensure students have access to the best clinical sites in Boston.
RCC remains committed to its important mission of providing cost-effective education and essential resources to students facing financial challenges.
