We are excited to host our first Women's Café, an opportunity for women to engage
in conversations about health, wellness, and financial planning, learn about opportunities
to enrich their lives, and empower them to move forward in 2022.
This event will run from Monday, April 11, 2022, to Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Participating vendors include women entrepreneurs who sell jewelry, clothing, handmade
crafts, and other products, along with local community partners who offer services
to enrich women's lives. In addition, we will host an exciting lineup of different guest speakers daily at 1:30 pm, who will share their life experiences and offer insights into a rewarding future.
Please attend and invite your friends and colleagues to join us! This event is FREE
OF CHARGE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. All are welcome, regardless of gender identity!
The Women's Cafe will be open each day from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm in the Student Commons hallway (Building 3, first floor).

Shana Bryant is a thought leader in event planning, black women and girls empowerment,
strategic planning and goal setting.
CEO and Founder of Shana Bryant Consulting (SBC), Shana Bryant discovered her knack for organization by way of her son’s sports teams
and Parent Teacher Association meetings. Shana has a keen ability to understand and
execute her clients’ vision and create manageable timelines, while holding teams accountable.
SBC has worked with over 200+ organizations, including the NAACP Boston Branch, UNCF,
and BECMA. Through SBC, Shana helps small businesses create flawless, high-impact
functions through education, training, and curated experiences.
With several years of experience and scores of events under her tutelage Shana found
herself mentoring less seasoned planners about how to achieve industry success. During
the COVID-19 pandemic, Shana created Course Trifecta, an online event planning platform
for entrepreneurs and corporations. With Shana’s thoughtful developed content executing
an event with the Trifecta framework assures you will be relying on fail proof logistics
and superior customer service.
Regional Director of Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, New England
Adanma K. Ude (she/hers) is the Regional Director of Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship,
New England and the co-chair of the Parent and Community Education and Involvement
Advisory Council for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She is
a lifelong resident of the City of Boston. Has been a community member of the Mattapan
neighborhood for twenty years and counting. Adanma is passionate about community engagement,
educational equity, and family advocacy. Her educational background includes a M.S.
in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University, Boston and a B.A. in English
from Suffolk University, Boston. When Adanma is not building professionally or networking-she
enjoys spending quality time with her seven-year-old son, Jeremiah, running her small
catering business, and finding safe ways to stay connected with family and friends.
Co-founder of GENNEW, Inc.
Dr. LaTasha Sarpy is a co-founder of GENNEW, Inc., a mental health agency located in Dedham, MA. Gennew serves children, families,
couples and adults. Gennew is a mental health organization with a mission to serve
the most vulnerable from a strength-based, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive
lens. Dr. Sarpy is a Professor of Sociology at Bunker Hill Community College. In addition
to teaching, LaTasha works on multiple initiatives inside and outside of the classroom.
LaTasha served as the Faculty Liaison for the Museum of African American History and
is a founding member of the Center for Equity and Cultural Wealth. For the past seven
years, LaTasha has worked on developing a culturally inclusive pedagogy and implementing
transformative initiatives in her classroom. Dr. Sarpy serves on three boards and
is a proud Boston native, born, raised, and educated. She holds a doctorate in Law
and Policy from Northeastern University and a Masters in Social Work from Wheelock
College. She is a wife, a mom of three and an active community member.
