BOSTON – Graduates of Roxbury Community College are now eligible to enroll as third-year students in the new Quincy College Bachelor’s degree program in Business Management. RCC graduates with a 3.0 or higher are eligible for a $2,000 scholarship.
The agreement establishes course equivalency standards that will ease the ability for Roxbury Community College graduates to transfer into the Quincy College program while reducing the potential loss of course credits in the transfer process. This articulation agreement was reached after detailed analysis of program requirements and extensive collaboration among the faculty, staff, and administration of both Colleges.
“At Roxbury Community College we empower our students to pursue their academic and career goals,” said Jackie Jenkins-Scott, Interim President of Roxbury Community College. “We are committed to working with partners like Quincy College to ensure our students can seamlessly apply the knowledge and credits they receive at Roxbury Community College towards further academic degrees.”
Last fall, Quincy College became the first two-year college in Massachusetts to earn state and accrediting-agency approvals required to offer a Bachelor’s degree curriculum and began enrollment in the Business Management program by offering third-year courses for the semester that began in last January.
“We’re delighted to have this agreement in place so that graduates of Roxbury Community
College can experience a smooth transition into our business Baccalaureate program,”
said Dr. Richard DeCristofaro, President of Quincy College. “Nothing is more important
than strengthening our commitment to the ideals of access and affordability and, to
that end, we anticipate executing articulation agreements with additional two-year
institutions so that even more students can take advantage of our affordable, accessible
pathway to a four-year Business Management degree.”
