RCC Collaborate with Huntington Theatre Topdog/Underdog

Happening Around Town

Robbie McCauley, Artistic Director of Roxbury Repertory Theater, was named 2017 Playwright Laureate at our annual 6 Playwrights In Search of a Stage where the college introduces six new plays to the world and Lisa Seymour Terry was given The Kenneth A. MacDonald award for Theater Excellence.  A tribute to Robbie was performed by Omi Jones and Sharon Bridgforth followed by an excerpt of Robbie McCauley’s OBIE Award winning play Sally’s Rape was performed beautifully by Emerald Johnson (Robbie) and Nicole Kinsley Kast (Jennie).

Guest panelist Daniel Callahan, Ashleigh Gordon, Robbie McCauley and Kim McLarin led a lively discussion after a performance of Topdog/Underdog in collaboration with the Huntington Theatre Company on April 4, 2017. Dialogue centered around love, money, identity and stereotypes among other topics in the play.
