Student Life & Student Engagement

Work Hard, Play Hard

It’s important for you to have a well-rounded experience at RCC—we want you to grow stronger during your time at RCC, both mentally and physically, and to have some fun, too! RCC’s Office of Student Life and Student Engagement plans and hosts many student activities each year. The Office also oversees our renowned athletics programs—and, even if you’re not an athlete, you’ll certainly have fun watching our Tigers compete!

Student Life

Involvement at RCC means participating in and out of the classroom and making the most out of your opportunities to network and build relationships with other students, faculty and staff.

Getting involved in campus life can be as easy as participating in student clubs/organizations, attending campus events, working with student and faculty members on service projects, or attending special lectures and forums on campus. There’s always something happening at RCC—to see a list of current events, check out the online calendar on our website.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Roxbury Community College “Student Government Association” (SGA) serves as the official student voice to the RCC Administration, the Board of Trustees, and the Massachusetts Board of Community Colleges. The mission of SGA is to earnestly represent the interests of students and increase student engagement by focusing their efforts on creating and continuing viable and effective student services, preserving and protecting RCC, and supporting students and student organizations in their academic and community endeavors. To this end, new leaders are elected from and by the general student populace each fall semester. SGA members serve on all college governance committees to guarantee active representation of student interests and concerns.

Clubs and Organizations

Each year, RCC students create clubs or organizations based on their areas of interest.  Current clubs include the RCC Brotherhood, Multi-Cultural Club, and Carver-Galileo Science Club.  Current students can connect with the Office of Student Life & Student Engagement to learn more about establishing and running a club.
