Celebrating RCC’s 2026 Commencement Honorees.

Roxbury Community College (RCC) is proud to recognize three distinguished honorees at its 2026 Commencement ceremony. Each honoree reflects the College’s longstanding commitment to leadership, service, equity, and community impact.

This year’s honorees are Judge Leslie Harris (Lifetime Achievement Award), Dr. Charles Anderson (Community Service Award), and Roeshana Moore-Evans (Distinguished Alumni Award).

Judge Leslie Harris
Lifetime Achievement Award (In Memoriam)

Roxbury Community College (RCC) honors the legacy of Judge Leslie Harris, a lifelong advocate, educator, and friend of the College, with the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Judge Harris’s connection to RCC dates back to the I-95 protests, where he played a pivotal role in securing the land for the College’s current campus. In the late 1970s, he also served as an instructor at RCC, teaching Biology and African American Literature and contributing his deep commitment to education and public service to the College community.

Appointed Associate Justice of the Suffolk Juvenile Court in 1994, Judge Harris devoted his career to justice, mentorship, and service. His professional journey included roles as a teacher, youth worker, probation officer, public defender, and Chief of the Juvenile Division in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Across each of these positions, he remained steadfast in his commitment to supporting young people and strengthening the communities he served.

As one of RCC’s 50 Pioneers, Judge Harris was widely recognized for his leadership and lifelong dedication to public service. In 2019, he also played a key role in guiding the RCC Foundation through a critical period of transition, helping to restore stability and advance its mission.

Dr. Charles Anderson
Community Service Award

Charles Anderson, MD, MPH, MBA, is a physician leader, healthcare executive, entrepreneur, and advocate for community health with more than 25 years of experience in the Boston-area healthcare community. He currently serves as President and CEO of The Dimock Center in Roxbury, one of the region’s most comprehensive community health centers, offering integrated services in medical care, behavioral health, addiction treatment, early education, and family support.

Dr. Anderson has been nationally recognized for his leadership and innovation in healthcare, including receiving the Boston Business Journal’s inaugural Innovator in Healthcare Award in 2024. He is also an active educator and speaker, sharing his expertise with institutions such as Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and Northeastern University.

His career includes leadership roles in healthcare consulting at Deloitte, executive leadership at Caritas Christi Healthcare System, and work as a founding partner at Exaltare Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on health and wellness investments. He is widely recognized for his leadership at the intersection of healthcare delivery, innovation, and investment strategy.

Dr. Anderson serves on numerous boards and advisory bodies, including The Boston Foundation, Berklee College of Music, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, an MD and MPH from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from Boston University.

Roeshana Moore-Evans
Distinguished Alumni Award

roeshana moore-evansRoeshana Moore-Evans is a proud RCC graduate whose career reflects a deep commitment to equity, leadership, and community impact. During her time at RCC, she laid the foundation for a career defined by purpose, centering people, strengthening systems, and advancing opportunity for communities often left at the margins.

Following her time at RCC, Roeshana earned both her bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she further developed her expertise in business, strategy, and equity-centered leadership. She has since built a distinguished career spanning public service, higher education, and social impact.

Roeshana is the Founder and Principal Strategist of Equity Empowerment Consulting, where she partners with organizations and communities to design and implement strategies that advance equity-centered change. She previously served as the inaugural Executive Director of Harvard University’s Legacy of Slavery Initiative, where she led a major institutional effort focused on historical accountability, community engagement, and reparative work, overseeing a $100 million endowment and launching community-centered grantmaking initiatives.

Her earlier career includes leadership roles at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where she advanced diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and contributed to organizational strategy and culture. Throughout her career, Roeshana has been recognized for her ability to build relationships, align vision with action, and lead complex initiatives with clarity and purpose.

She continues to serve in advisory and board roles focused on racial equity, public health, and community advancement. Her work reflects a sustained commitment to collaboration, accountability, and systems change.

Roeshana Moore-Evans exemplifies the spirit of RCC through her dedication to education, equity, and transformational impact.
