Onboarding for New Employees

The following list includes policies and important information to be reviewed by all new hires at Roxbury Community College.

Benefited employees can sign up for Health Insurance using the “MyGIClink” at: https://www.mass.gov/mygiclink

Health Insurance - All residents of Massachusetts must now be covered by health insurance. Although, part-time employees are not covered by the GIC insurance they can elect Commonwealth Choice health insurance coverage through the Massachusetts Commonwealth Health Connector Agency. Part-time employees are able to have their health care premiums for the Commonwealth Choice plan of their choosing deducted from their pay on a pre-tax basis.

The Massachusetts Community Colleges’ system-wide COVID-19 vaccine verification requirement for students, full and part-time employees including faculty and staff, contract and/or hourly employees, interns, and volunteers regardless of whether work assignments are online or in-person as well as consultants that have a regular presence on campus and/or routinely interact with students and/or employees, as determined by the College are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit written proof of an official record of full vaccination status.

Certain other individuals, including vendors, and other business/governmental invitees may be required to be vaccinated. Please view the full employee vaccination policy on HR’s SharePoint site for detail.

The Massachusetts Community Colleges’ system-wide COVID-19 vaccine verification requirement for students and employees will take effect this January. The employee vaccination policy effective for our 15 colleges which requires all employees to provide written proof of full vaccination status by January 3, 2022, absent an approved reasonable accommodation. The policy and accommodation form are available on HR’s SharePoint site

Employees will provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination using VERIFLY, using the QR code for RCC employees.  For instructions on how to upload your vaccine card, click below:

Please note that the attestation of vaccination status will not be accepted as written proof of an official record of full vaccination status.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND HUMAN RESOURCES A COPY OF YOUR VACCINATION CARD OR UPLOAD YOUR DOCUMENT TO ANY OTHER VERIFICATION SITE THAN THE ONE NOTED ABOVE.
