Honoring RCC Pioneers

Pioneer Portrait Exhibit

The history of RCC is Roxbury’s history, and Roxbury’s history is Boston’s history.  Through the traveling Pioneer Portrait Exhibit, we’re sharing the history of Boston’s only Predominantly Black Institution (PBI), a history that’s been passed along verbally for much of the last 50+ years.  A history that’s not known by many residents, but is at the core of so much social progress in Boston.  When possible, pioneers were photographed at RCC, in the location that best reflects their relationship with the College.  Each portrait is accompanied by a short biography that provides information on the historical significance of each pioneer along with a few of the many contributions the pioneer made to the College.
