Roxbury Community College has partnered with the Boston Public Schools district to
provide college awareness and access to students within the district that experience
obstacles to attending college.
Early college students earn 12 or more college credits while enrolled in high school.
The college credits earned will also apply to high school graduation requirements.
Who is eligible for Early College with BPS and RCC?
Primarily students in Grade 11 with some exceptions for 10th and 12th graders.
Students at English Language Development (ELD) Levels, 3, 4, and 5.
Students have to meet with their high school counselors in order to sign up for the
course(s).
Students have to complete the RCC application and attend a mandatory orientation January
17th at 3:30pm.
Benefits of Participating in Early College at RCC.
The course(s) are free.
Students are introduced to college-level work and a college community experience.
Student can earn course credit that is transferable to many public state colleges
in MA.
Earning college course credit means students may reduce the cost of an overall college
education.
Students can enter college with a better understanding of the college experience.
Students will have access to all the services granted native RCC students.
