Biotechnology/ Biomanufacturing Certificate 

Biotechnology and biomanufacturing industries are among the most rapidly expanding fields in Massachusetts. The Biotechnology/Biomanufacturing Certificate Program is designed for the student who wishes to learn about the field of biotechnology or who may already have a scientific background but desires to study the details of this burgeoning field in the hope of gaining an entry level position at one of the many biotechnology companies, hospitals, clinics or labs.

Working in Biomanufacturing combines aspects from many scientific disciplines including biology, microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and technology. This provides great diversity to the types of jobs a degree holder can obtain across the industry.  The room for advancement is abundant in this diverse field, with new opportunities globally.  

The Certificate in Biotechnology/Biomanufacturing helps to prepare for entry-level positions in the field, such as:

  • Research Assistants
  • Lab Technicians 
  • Manufacturing Technicians
  • Quality Control Technicians 
  • Documentation Coordinators
  • Instrumentation Calibration Coordinators

Certificate programs are designed to lead to immediate employment opportunities.  Any student interested in earning a degree at RCC and then transferring to a four-year school is encouraged to consider an associate degree program.
