The Information Systems Technology Department offers a three semester Certificate
in Network Administration that allows students to develop the information technology
(IT) skills needed to pursue a career in IT. The IT Certificate in Network Administration
prepares students to take the CompTIA A+ or Cisco CCNA certification exams, or to
transfer to the Associate of Science degree program upon completion. Through this
certificate, students will learn how to install, configure, and maintain an organization's
local and wide area networks (LAN and WAN), data communications networks, computer
operating systems, and servers.
The Network Administration Certificate will help students prepare for a range of careers
and jobs, such as:
Information Analyst
Information Systems Manager (IS Manager)
Information Technology Specialist (IT Specialist)
LAN Specialist (Local Area Network Specialist)
Local Area Network Administrator (LAN Administrator)
Network Administrator
Network Coordinator
Network Manager

Transfer Opportunities
Certificate programs are designed to lead to immediate employment opportunities. Any
student interested in earning a degree at RCC and then transferring to a four-year
school is encouraged to consider an associate degree program.
