Metro Boston Library Network

MBLN

The Metro Boston Library Network (MBLN) is a consortium of public, academic, and school libraries throughout the Greater Boston area. MBLN supports shared library systems, resource sharing, staff collaboration, and access to a broader collection of materials across member institutions.

What This Means for RCC Library Users

Expanded Collections

Gain access to materials beyond RCC Library's local collection through a network of participating libraries, increasing the breadth and depth of available resources.

Easier Discovery

Discover books, media, and research materials through a shared library system designed to connect users with resources across the network.

Stronger Partnerships

Joining MBLN creates opportunities for collaboration with public, academic, and school libraries throughout the Boston area, supporting innovation and knowledge sharing.

Enhanced Learning Opportunities

Students, faculty, and staff will benefit from broader access to information resources that support teaching, learning, research, and lifelong education.

Other Library Networks

  • ComCat (Commonwealth Catalog) is the state run catalog that lets you log in and place holds on books from libraries all across the state. From the website: "With access to millions of titles, the Commonwealth Catalog extends your library’s reach to all participating libraries throughout Massachusetts, with convenient pick-up at your local library." You should use ComCat after you have checked the RCC library and MBLN Network.
