From the Classroom to the Stage: RCC Helps Emerging Artists Build Sustainable Careers

For singer-songwriter Emi McSwain, talent and ambition have always been at the forefront of her journey—but learning the business side of music has been just as important. McSwain leveraged her time at Roxbury Community College to supplement her education, with one using RCC credits to complete her degree at Berklee in 2022 and another returning to RCC after graduating from Berklee to continue learning in Fall 2024.

Roxbury Community College Students Built Digital Job Skills at First Annual RCC Hackathon

A group of 15 RCC students got their competitive juices flowing at RCC’s first annual Hackathon February 28. The three-person team “The Renaissance Coders” were named the winner, but all five teams gained valuable digital literacy, problem solving, collaboration, and Generative AI skills that are needed in today’s job market. No prior experience was required to compete.
