Roxbury Community College (RCC) will honor the Class of 2026 at the 50th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2026. Dr. Suzanne Elise Walsh, President of City University in Seattle and Board Chair of Achieving the Dream, is the 2026 Commencement Speaker.

From Carpenter to Cartoonist: A Craftsman’s Second Act

Deutra L. Gamboa-Haith knows what it means to rebuild, as someone experienced in mending both structures and the course of his own life. Now pursuing his associate degree in Visual Arts at Roxbury Community College, he plans to transfer to Massachusetts College of Art and Design after graduation to become a commercial artist. His journey to the studio, however, was anything but conventional. Before art became his profession, construction was his craft.

Roxbury Community College Student Earns National Phi Theta Kappa Honors and Team-USA Recognition

Roxbury Community College student Quiana N. Wilson achieved a distinction rarely seen, earning two prestigious scholarships from Phi Theta Kappa. Her accomplishment includes recognition as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Academic Team and being named the 2026 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar for Massachusetts. Selected from more than 2,300 nominees, Wilson will receive a $3,000 scholarship.
