MassTransfer - Through the MassTransfer program, your english degree from RCC transfers as two years of completed work towards a Bachelor's degree at most state colleges and universities.  Review the A2B pathways on the MassTransfer website. 

1. Cultural Awareness: Graduates of the English major will develop an understanding and appreciation for the diverse cultural and literary traditions, including those of African, African American, and other diasporic communities, fostering a broader perspective and promoting cultural sensitivity in their academic and professional pursuits. 
2. Critical Thinking: Graduates of the English major will develop and apply critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze and interpret complex texts, evaluate arguments, and engage in thoughtful and nuanced discussions about literature, language, and culture. 
3. Literary Analysis: Graduates of the English major will demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret literary texts from diverse cultural and historical contexts, including works by authors from the African diaspora, in order to identify and articulate the major themes, literary techniques, and social, political, and historical contexts of the texts. 
4. Effective Communication: Graduates of the English major will demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication by producing clear, coherent, and well-structured written work, as well as effectively presenting their ideas and insights through oral presentations, discussions, and performances. 
5. Research Skills: Graduates of the English major will acquire and apply information literacy informed research skills, including the ability to locate, evaluate, and effectively use relevant sources of information, both in print and digital formats, in order to support their arguments and enhance their understanding of literary and linguistic topics. 
6. Civic Engagement: Graduates of the English major will actively engage language and literature in their local communities and beyond, applying their knowledge and skills to address social issues, promote social justice, and contribute to positive change through civic participation, community service, and advocacy.
